Pilates isn’t all about making crazy pretzel shapes with your body and beautiful Instagram-worthy pictures in exotic places. It’s about the journey you take on your mat, NOT the destination of the poses. We promise to be as real with you as possible.

Personal Training
Personal training and Pilates both focus on functional strength. We need muscles in our body to actually do normal daily living, hence the body weight training and weight training and/or those additional red or blue springs on the reformer here in the studio that your instructor sometimes sneaks on.

Pilates Benefits
Attention to core support and full-body fitness, including the breath and the mind, provide a level of integrative fitness that is hard to find elsewhere. It is also a reason that Pilates is popular in rehab settings, as well as with athletes who find that Pilates is a great foundation for any kind of movement they do.

Ativo is like a second home to me. The community is so welcoming and the teachers are all fantastic. I enjoy the variety of classes, I can always find a class that suits my mood perfectly.

There are many personal trainers, but few personal trainers who have as vast an amount of specialized & diverse training, knowledge, experience sensitivity & dedication to their clients as Ativo. I have been with them for 5 years, for a good reason.

This gym is by far the best gym I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot of gyms! The workouts are amazing and the people there are da bomb!!! It’s the bestest of the best! I would highly recommend Ativo for anyone of any fitness level. Thanks again!

Even in a group, she is attentive to each individual's limitations and strives to improve our range of movement safely. Anna has a remarkable ability to articulate the objective of each routine, use of target muscle group and injury prevention technique all whilst maintaining momentum of the workout. True to her formative years as a trained dancer, Anna's technical expertise, movement intuition and encouragement were critical in helping me work towards controlled and purposeful movement. Instructor Yuli's routines focus on the centre (of mass) and breathing techniques for stability, control and efficient movement. She is attentive to spring resistance for each individual's fitness level and provides a unique training experience enhancing muscle engagement, strength and flexibility. We are constantly reminded especially in tougher routines to "push through the centre" while she cues us organically through muscle group flow and connection. Yuli's classes are a unique blend of biomechanics and common sense for she understands that embedded in each routine is a personal challenge - this in itself is empowering. (April 2025) The studio is a gem of a find - centrally located yet nestled in a charming neighbourhood with easy access via public transportation as well as ample parking lots (reasonable charges too). Armed with basics of Reformer Pilates, I was intentional in my choice of studio - I needed qualified instructor with good cueing skills, positive energy and aboveall attentive to form and safety. These requirements are critical as I was looking to restart training after taking a year's break due to hand injury. To this, I am very thankful to train under Ms Sue Anne who understands that recovery isn't linear - I look forward to a journey of learning and healing under her.
